Huntress

I’ve been working on a book for a long time now. Like, more time than I’d rather admit. It shouldn’t have taken this long, but here we are. When you’ve been living with characters and places in your head for years, it starts to feel weird that no one else knows about that stuff. So, I thought I’d sit down and finally breathe some life into something from my book.

Everyone, meet Huntress.

The CNV Huntress is a ship built around a weapon. She’s one of a kind and incredibly deadly. She’s able to accelerate a nickel jacketed, osmium core projectile to a measurable fraction of C. Let’s just say, you don’t want to be on the other end of her targeting sensors.

Sci-fi nerds like me will have no trouble imagining a ship like Huntress destroying vessels in space combat. One hit from her main weapon would mean certain death to any ship. But, that’s not what’s most terrifying about Huntress’s main gun.

What would happen if you fired that weapon at a city?

Big ouch, is what would happen. Big ouch.

A weapon that powerful is almost too dangerous for anyone to wield, and Admiral Akameri Aett is not the kind of guy you’d want with a finger on that trigger. Aett is a killer, a dyed-in-the-wool killer. Cold-blooded, clean, methodical, and thorough.

Naturally, our protagonist will need to do something about that. Fear not, I got you.

I can’t wait for you all to finally meet Huntress, Aett, and all other characters in When the Wolves Come. Wish me luck, sacrifice some chickens, or whatever it is you do. I’m almost at the finish line. There’s only a bit more revision to go before the book is ready for beta readers.

Until then. Ad Astra, my friends.
